OH Tobacco Compliance Inspector- Chillcothe

CES is looking for reliable, detail-oriented individuals to assist Underage Purchasers in performing non-confrontational compliance checks on local tobacco retailers to ensure the sale of tobacco products to Underage Purchasers is restricted. The inspection is used to establish a retailer's compliance with federal regulations. This work is conducted on a part-time, case-volume basis, with flexibility relevant to the individual's schedule and the role is subject to federal service contract labor standards.
 
Duties/Responsibilities:

• Travel with an Underage Purchaser; identify and verify site address provided
• Facilitate and observe undercover buys in coordination with trained Underage Purchasers
• Collect evidence of violations, such as photographs and tobacco products
• Complete compliance check inspection forms, detailing any violations, when applicable

 
Required qualifications/skills:

• Must maintain employment with the State of Ohio 
• Reliable transportation
• Attention to detail
• Strict adherence to deadlines and privacy
• Law Enforcement employees are strongly encouraged to apply

 
Office Equipment (if a WFH position):

• Smartphone
• Personal computer/laptop with high speed internet access

 
Other:

• All Compliance Inspectors will complete online training modules
• Must be able to undergo a security clearance background check and become credentialed by the Food and Drug Administration (FDA).
