Position Title: OHA Lunchroom and Recess Paraprofessional

FLSA Status: Non-Exempt

Hours: 2.5 hours per day, 11:30 a.m. - 2:00 p.m., Monday through Friday

Start Date: 09/02/25

Pay Rate: starting pay is $20.38 per hour

Minimum Requirements:

Must be highly qualified. Previous experience working with students in an educational setting preferred. Qualified candidates must enjoy working in a school setting, helping students grow to their full potential, and working with others in a collaborative environment.

Job Summary:

The Lunchroom/Recess Paraprofessional assists the students during their lunch and recess time as part of the school day. This person must supervise children to ensure a safe environment during lunch/recess and to assist children with appropriate behaviors following applicable District policies/procedures.

Qualifications:

• Must be highly qualified
• Must have high school education or equivalent
• Good interpersonal and organizational skills
• Ability to handle confrontational situations with students and use good judgement when student restraint is necessary
• Ability to follow directions
• Ability to effectively work with students, parents and staff
• Preferred experience working with elementary age students
