Summary

As an assistant for the Ohio Export Internship Program, you will assume a pivotal role in supporting the programs educational initiatives while providing essential assistance to the program coordinator and participating students. This multifaceted position encompasses administrative tasks, promotional activities, and mentorship to ensure a seamless and enriching experience for all participants.

Essential Functions

Marketing and Promotion of the Program:

  • Develop a comprehensive social media presence dedicated to the OEIP program
  • Publish visual content, such as pictures showcasing OEIP participants internship experiences
  • Craft and publish periodic stories on social media, detailing participants summer experiences

Facilitating Student Recruitment:

  • Update registration forms based on new guidelines provided annually by the OEIP program coordinator
  • Design and distribute informative flyers to attract interested students
  • Organize informational sessions about the program, with invitations extended to past participants
  • Deliver presentations in business classes to promote awareness of the program
  • Maintain meticulous records of registration forms, extending thank-you notes to applicants and encouraging completion of forms
  • Assist in screening registration forms to identify top candidates for interviews
  • Organize all candidates application documents for committee use during interviews

Student Guidance:

  • Work with the professor for classroom support
  • Provide valuable insights to instructors and the coordinator for continuous program improvement

Minimum Qualifications

Required:

  • Currently enrolled in an undergraduate/graduate program at BGSU
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Demonstrated skills in social media and communication technology

Preferred:

  • A past OEIP participant
  • Demonstrated interest or background in export, international trade, or related fields
