The Enrichment Caregiver assists in providing the enrichment activities program for the resident neighborhood that reflects the varied interests of the residents and provides them with meaningful and enriching activities. Implements and oversees the households to ensure a home like setting. Provides assistance and support with residents’ activities of daily living, and instrumental activities of daily living.
Primary Responsibilities:
Activities Programming
• Develop and implement a comprehensive activities program to help meet the spiritual, physical, social, and psychosocial needs of the residents.
• Conducts activities as needed.
• Ensures that residents are encouraged and assisted to attend activities that are of interest to them.
• Maintains and reports to the enrichment coordinator that there is an adequate supply of equipment for regular activities
• Coordinates activities involving other departments with the appropriate department head.
• Carries out other duties as assigned by the enrichment coordinator.
• Lead in assisting all volunteer associates and the ability to make small group presentations
• Complies with the community policies, training programs, and state and federal regulations.
Resident Services
• Provides quality care and assistance to residents in accordance with the community philosophy, policies and resident rights
• Observes residents within patient care policy guidelines and immediately report any conditions requiring attention to the Care Coordinator.
• Assists residents in meeting their physical, emotional, and spiritual needs.
• Adheres to each resident’s individual service plan, notify the clinical director and care coordinator of any changes in the resident’s condition.
• Ambulates and transfers residents as needed utilizing appropriate assistive devices and body mechanics.
• Assists residents with their activities of daily living.
• Interacts with residents to ensure that quality care and positive resident/staff relations are taking place.
• Accountable for residents care in conjunction with the clinical director and other disciplines within the community to ensure quality care.
• Completes daily assignments and reports problems to enrichment coordinator.
• Follows safety guidelines according to community policies and procedures.
• Offers choice, maintains dignity, and promotes individuality for all residents.
• Protects and maintains resident rights.
• Carries out all duties as assigned by your supervisor.
Communications
• Attend all regular staff meetings and required training sessions.
• Effectively communicate information pertaining to the residents on a “need to know” basis to other team members according to the residence policies and procedures.
• Notify your supervisor or the Clinical Director if you observe a change in a resident’s condition.
• Accountable for compliance, excellence and delivery of resident care in adherence with organization, local, state and federal regulations.
• Maintains a positive and professional manner toward residents, visitors, families and co-workers.
• Adheres to all policies and procedures of Ohio Living.
Requirements
Qualifications
Education
• High school diploma or equivalent required.
Experience
• One year activities experience preferred.
• One year job related experience in a senior living environment preferred.
• Two years experience as STNA/NA Experience preferred.
Other Requirements
• Must be able to read, write, speak, and understand the English language.
Physical Job Requirements
To fulfill job requirements, employee must be able to perform key physical task for extended periods of time. When supporting, lifting or transferring residents, proper body mechanics and safety measures as prescribed by the residence must be used.
In a typical eight- hour day, employee will:
• Stand/walk up to 8 hours a day Sit up to 2 hours a day
• Frequently support up to 70 pounds
• Occasionally lift/carry up to 50 pounds
• Frequently kneel, bend, and reach
