Job Summary
The Department of Business and Industry is recruiting to fill an unclassified, non exempt Ombudsman for Common-Interest Communities position within the Real Estate Division in Las Vegas. The incumbent reports directly to the Division Administrator and serves at their pleasure. They will be responsible for providing leadership, information, guidance, education, and outreach regarding the services, programs, and resources available to homeowners, residents, boards of directors, community managers, and other stakeholders within Nevadas common-interest communities.

Job Duties
The Ombudsman is responsible for the development, implementation, administration, and oversight of the Offices educational, informational, mediation, and alternative dispute resolution (ADR) programs. In this capacity, the Ombudsman works with parties involved in disputes filed with the Office to facilitate communication, promote constructive dialogue, and assist in achieving voluntary, mutually acceptable resolutions when appropriate and consistent with applicable law.
The incumbent provides executive oversight of all Office programs and operations, including the supervision and direction of professional and administrative staff located in both Southern Nevada and Carson City. They establish program priorities, develop policies and procedures, ensure compliance with applicable statutes and regulations, manage program resources, and represent the Office before the Commission for Common-Interest Communities and Condominium Hotels, the Legislature, governmental entities, industry organizations, and the public.
