Position Overview

BG Staffing is seeking a reliable and responsive On-Call Apartment Maintenance Technician to support a community in Brookfield, Wisconsin. This unique opportunity is ideal for an experienced maintenance professional looking for consistent part-time, weekend work with flexibility and strong earning potential.

In this role, you will serve as the primary emergency contact for residents during assigned weekends, ensuring urgent maintenance issues are addressed promptly and professionally.

Schedule & Commitment

• Every other weekend (on-call rotation)
• Pick up on-call phone: Friday evening (time TBD)
• Return phone: Monday (time TBD)
• One scheduled training day prior to start

Role Responsibilities

The On-Call Maintenance Technician is responsible for managing emergency service needs across the property, including:

• Picking up and carrying the on-call phone during assigned weekends

• Responding to resident calls and determining urgency of maintenance issues

• Triage and assess whether requests qualify as emergencies

• Traveling to the property to handle urgent maintenance needs, including:

• Heating-related issues (especially during winter months)

• Providing and setting up emergency heaters as needed

• Addressing other critical maintenance concerns

• Ensuring a timely, professional response to all emergency service calls

Compensation Structure

• $23.00 per hour
• 1 hour paid for picking up the on-call phone (Friday)
• 1 hour paid for returning the phone (Monday)
• Minimum 4-hour pay for any emergency call requiring on-site response
• Additional hours compensated if work exceeds the 4-hour minimum

Qualifications

• Previous apartment maintenance or related experience required
• Strong understanding of general maintenance systems, especially HVAC/heating
• Ability to work independently and make sound decisions under pressure
• Reliable transportation and willingness to travel to the property when needed
• Must live within close proximity to the property for timely emergency response
• Strong communication skills and professional demeanor

Pre-Employment Requirements

• Background check required by the client prior to start
• Candidate information (first name, last name, phone number) must be submitted for client review
• Candidate must provide written consent for background screening before onboarding

Training & Start Timeline

• One required training day (date to be finalized)
• On-call rotation begins the following assigned weekend after clearance
