About the Job

We currently have an exciting opportunity an On-Call Hair & Makeup Artist to join our Photo Studio team. This individual will support ecommerce, editorial, marketing, and campaign photo shoots by providing professional grooming, hair styling, and makeup application for on-figure photography and video productions. This role requires strong experience in men's grooming, the ability to work across diverse hair textures and skin tones, and flexibility to support studio and location shoots as needed.

What You'll Do | Key Accountabilities

• Provide professional hair styling, grooming, and light makeup application for men's, women's and kid's ecommerce and editorial photo shoots.
• Execute grooming looks that align with brand standards, styling direction, and creative objectives.
• Prepare talent for on-figure photography, video, and campaign productions while ensuring continuity throughout shoots.
• Support diverse talent needs, including experience working with textured and African American hair.
• Collaborate closely with art directors, stylists, photographers, producers, and creative teams to deliver polished final imagery.
• Perform on-set touch-ups and maintain continuity during shoot days.
• Maintain cleanliness, organization, and sanitation standards for all tools and products.
• Support studio and on-location productions, including flexibility for occasional travel.

What You'll Bring | Skills & Experience

• 3+ years of professional experience in hair styling and/or makeup artistry within ecommerce, editorial, commercial, or studio photography environments.
• Strong men's grooming experience required.
• Experience working with diverse hair textures and skin tones, including African American hair.
• Ability to execute both natural grooming and elevated editorial looks.
• Strong understanding of on-camera grooming for photography and video.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced production environment while maintaining a high level of quality and professionalism
• Flexible schedule with availability for on-call booking needs and occasional travel
• Cosmetology license preferred, where applicable

Work Environment, Physical & Mental Demands

• Ability to sit and work at a computer keyboard for extended periods of time
• Ability to stoop, kneel, bend at the waist, and reach daily
• Able to lift and move up to 25 pounds occasionally
• Must utilize visual acuity, speech and hearing, hand and eye coordination and manual dexterity necessary to operate a computer and office equipment
• Hours vary based on production schedules and business needs; position is on-call and based out of the Dublin, CA Photo Studio with occasional travel as needed
