Job Title: On-Call Immediate Care Physician (MD/DO)

Position Summary:
We are seeking a qualified On-Call Immediate Care Physician to provide timely, high-quality medical care for patients presenting with acute, non-life-threatening illnesses and injuries. This role supports immediate care services during scheduled or as-needed coverage and requires efficient clinical decision-making in a fast-paced setting.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Evaluate, diagnose, and treat patients with acute illnesses and minor injuries requiring immediate attention.
  • Perform medical procedures within scope of practice, including wound care, suturing, splinting, and incision and drainage.
  • Order, interpret, and act on diagnostic tests such as laboratory studies, imaging, and point-of-care testing.
  • Prescribe medications and develop appropriate treatment and follow-up plans.
  • Identify conditions requiring escalation of care and coordinate transfers or referrals as needed.
  • Provide patient education on diagnosis, treatment, and preventive care.
  • Document all patient encounters accurately and in compliance with medical, legal, and regulatory standards.
  • Collaborate with nursing staff, advanced practice providers, and other healthcare professionals to ensure efficient patient flow and quality care.

Qualifications:

  • Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathy (DO) degree from an accredited institution.
  • Completion of an accredited residency program (Emergency Medicine, Family Medicine, or Internal Medicine preferred).
  • Board certification or eligibility in a relevant specialty.
  • Active medical license to practice in the state of employment.
  • Current ACLS and BLS certification (PALS preferred, if applicable).
  • Strong clinical judgment, adaptability, and excellent communication skills.

Work Environment:

  • Immediate care or urgent care clinical setting.
  • On-call, as-needed scheduling, which may include evenings, weekends, and holidays.
  • Fast-paced, team-based environment focused on timely patient care.


Requirements

Must maintain state certification and/or licensure.
