Job Description

The Our House Residential Care Facility (RCF) is a 14 room facility with a team of expert clinicians who work with people living with HIV who are having difficulty managing independent living. By tailoring nursing, social services, and therapeutic everyday activities our clients and residents are able to define what 'living well' means to them. Our House and CAP Northwest and are excited to announce that we are hiring skilled and team-oriented On-Call Medication Technician. This position is responsible for working within the framework of the interdisciplinary team approach to provide residents with medications and direct care as directed by the licensed nurse in charge of the floor. This includes assisting with dietary and environmental needs as needed.

On-call staff fills in open shifts as needed and available. This position is responsible for working within the framework of the interdisciplinary team approach to provide direct resident care as well as dietary care and environmental care of the facility as needed by performing the following duties. This is a non-management, non-union-represented position.

This is an On-Call role working at Our House in SE Portland. Starting pay is $25.94 hr.

Who You Are

  • Education & Experience At least 1 year experience in working as a Med Tech or other healthcare-related experience
  • Ability to pass DHS background check. (Potential Disqualifying Conviction List)
  • Prior experience passing medications.
  • A strong understanding of issues relevant to people living with HIV, communities of color, and the LBGTQ+ community and how those issues affect or influence service delivery.

What You'll Do

  • Responsible for administration of medications as directed by the Licensed Nurse in accordance with Physician Orders, State Regulations and the Nurse Practice Act.
  • Maintains accurate records of medications provided or omitted, including controlled substances, in each resident's Electronic Medication Administration Record.
  • Provides direct resident care while promoting the resident's dignity, independence and choice.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
