On-Call - Senior Pipe Stress Engineer

OVERVIEW

Merrick is seeking an On-Call Senior Pipe Stress Engineer I to join our Energy, Manufacturing & Bioprocessing Business Unit.

This position will is located in our Greenwood Village, CO office. A hybrid work schedule may be supported, and fully remote candidates will be considered.

WHAT YOU"LL DO

• As an On-Call Senior Pipe Stress Engineer with our Energy, Manufacturing & Bioprocessing team, you will work in a dynamic multi-discipline environment with other engineering and technical personnel to ensure overall project goals are met.
• Performs and documents engineering calculations related to mechanical engineering for the purpose of selecting code compliant systems and equipment.
• Ensures mechanical activities follow QA procedures.
• Performs pipe stress analysis utilizing software such as CAESAR II, NozzlePro, etc.
• Works with the project team to design a cohesive, technically acceptable, and optimized piping system.
• Performs detailed reviews of piping isometrics, piping plans, pipe specifications, P&IDs, pipe stress analysis completed by others and other design documents.
• Mentor other mechanical engineers and designers.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

• Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering or related engineering field from ABET accredited program required.
• 12+ years industry experience.
• Experience with Design/Build and EPC projects.
• Significant pipe stress analysis experience utilizing software such as CAESAR II.
• Must have a valid driver"s license, a good driving record, and be insurable under Merrick's insurance carrier.
• Must be eligible to work in the United States without sponsorship.

DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS

• Significant experience with oil and gas, petrochemical, bioprocessing or power facility design.
• Extensive design experience in piping engineering, pipe supports, equipment layouts and detailed piping design.
• Knowledge of ASME B31.3 and B31.1, ASME Boiler & Pressure Vessel codes, PIP and API codes.
• Registered Professional Engineer
