Position Summary

Applicants must have a degree in a liberal arts or humanities field. Degrees, for example, in art history, literature, musicology, film studies, classics, history, or philosophy would be relevant. Successful candidates will teach HUM 110 Discovery and Discernment Through the Arts. This involves teaching the basic elements of literature, visual arts, music, theater, and film and guiding students to develop skills of analysis, interpretation, and critical judgment of the arts. Additional responsibilities may include advising students.

Adjunct positions are contracted on a semester-by-semester basis.

This position is an interest list for future adjunct teaching opportunities. Applications will be reviewed by the department periodically, and all candidates will be notified by email if they are chosen to interview for a position.

Knowledge, Skills, and Experience

Bachelor's degree required; master's degree preferred. A strong commitment to excellence in teaching is advantageous.

Work Schedule

Courses are assigned by the department chair.
