Maintenance - ON-SITE MAINTENANCE TECHNICIAN LEAD

ON-SITE MAINTENANCE TECHNICIAN LEAD Maintenance Classified Job Number: 2300289758 Start Date: Open Date: 07292025 Closing Date: The duties include but are not limited to:

  • Assist the Zone Coordinators in daily activities and assignments.
  • Responsible for daily and monthly inspections on assigned schools.
  • Inspection of work in progress and completion of inspection reports.
  • Performs other duties as assigned by the Zone Coordinator, Maintenance Director, or Executive Manager of Facilities.
  • Responsible for utilizing work order system to enter and update information to fulfill complete or escalate work orders as needed.
  • Responsible for performing work necessary to complete work orders and other assigned tasks.
  • Responsible for materials to fill work orders.
  • Evaluates and recommends equipment, materials, and standards necessary to complete tasks.
  • Responsible for ensuring that all buildings are safe and in proper working order.
  • Operating maintenance equipment and using tools in a responsible and safe manner.
  • Identifies potential problems and hazards in work areas and buildings.
  • Perform preventative maintenance and minor repairs in buildings and assigned areas and on equipment and tools as needed.
  • Communicating with Zone Coordinator to report and discuss maintenance and personnel issues and to schedule and prioritize duties.
  • Inspects buildings, rooms, and equipment for proper maintenance by the Onsite Maintenance Technicians (OMT).
  • Responsible for being familiar with all local, state, and federal building codes.
  • Following schedule assigned.
  • Fills out accurate and timely records or time and cost required for each project.
  • Advises skilled trade workers on particularly difficult problems and may participate in work on the trades as required.
  • Provides leadership and supervision to OMTs.
  • Enforces board policies to workers.
  • Enforces safety precautions.
  • Establishes or adjusts work procedures to meet production schedules using knowledge of workers capabilities and difficulty of work.
  • Recommends measures to improve efficiency, such as changes in working conditions.
  • Drafts materials list and orders materials for projects.
  • Coordinates work schedules with Maintenance or other system departments and/or contractors.
  • Establishes and maintains effective working relationships with supervisors, other lead positions, and employees.
  • Performing duties with minimal supervision.

This position may also be required to work after hours and weekends when necessary. This position may also be required to perform duties on shift work-schedules.

QUALIFICATIONS

Must be a high school graduate from a regionally accredited school or have a GED equivalent. Must have ten (10) years of experience in Building Maintenance procedures, including mechanical, electrical, etc. Must have ten (10) years of experience in construction activities, maintenance services, or an equivalent combination of trade school training and experience. Must have ten (10) years of experience in field work. Must have ten (10) years of experience in general trades work in one or more building trades or equivalent combination of training and experience. Must have knowledge of practices, methods, materials, and tools used in the building electrical, plumbing, carpentry, or mechanical crafts. Must have knowledge of building codes, occupational hazards, and safety precautions of the specific trades to be observed. Must be able to prepare work schedules. Must have skill in the use and care of a variety of standard hand and power tools, machines, materials, and equipment of the trade. Must be physically capable of performing described duties. Must have the ability to understand and follow oral and written instructions, ability to provide basic supervision to other employees, and adhere to schedules. Must be insurable as determined by an investigation into private and business driving records within any consecutive three (3) year time frame.
