Oncology Coordinator, Veterinary | $20–$25/hr

Schedule: Full-Time | Monday–Friday

Veterinary Emergency & Specialty Hospital (VESH) in West Springfield, MA is hiring an Oncology Coordinator to support our Medical Oncology team. This full-time Veterinary Coordinator opportunity is ideal for someone who is highly organized, detail-oriented, and passionate about supporting clients, patients, and specialty veterinary teams.

As an Oncology Coordinator at VESH, you’ll play an important role in the patient experience by coordinating communication, supporting daily workflows, and helping families navigate specialized cancer care with compassion and professionalism.

Compensation

  • $20–$25/hour, based on experience and knowledge

Responsibilities
As Oncology Coordinator, you’ll serve as the central point of communication and organization for our Medical Oncology department. Responsibilities include:
  • Coordinate communication between the hospital, clients, and referring veterinarians (RDVMs) to ensure timely updates and continuity of care
  • Schedule oncology consultations, recheck appointments, and procedures
  • Prepare and maintain accurate patient records, treatment estimates, and client documentation
  • Monitor oncology department email communication, prescription refill requests, laboratory results, and appointment confirmations
  • Coordinate daily task lists and workflows for oncology doctors and technicians
  • Send client updates, RDVM correspondence, and sympathy cards promptly and professionally
  • Maintain, organize, and purge oncology files according to hospital protocols
  • Support smooth day-to-day operations of the Medical Oncology service while delivering exceptional client service
Qualifications
  • Previous experience in veterinary medicine, specialty medicine, or client coordination strongly preferred
  • Strong organizational skills with exceptional attention to detail
  • Outstanding interpersonal and communication skills
  • Ability to work independently while collaborating closely with a team
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple responsibilities in a fast-paced hospital environment
  • Dependable, flexible, and accountable with a positive, professional attitude
  • Commitment to maintaining a respectful, supportive, and team-oriented hospital culture
  • Comfortable communicating with clients during emotional and sensitive situations with empathy and professionalism
  • Fluent English speaking and reading skills required
About Veterinary Emergency & Specialty Hospital (VESH)
We are a 24-hour, VECCS Level 2 Certified, state-of-the-art Emergency + Specialty veterinary hospital.

Like human medical specialists, VESH supports primary care veterinarians with the evaluation and treatment of pets affected by trauma, chronic issues, serious illness, or unusual disorders requiring advanced training, while also providing critical and emergency veterinary care.

We offer a variety of specialty services including Advanced Imaging (CT), Internal Medicine, Surgery, Medical Oncology, and Emergency and Critical Care.
