To be part of our organization, every employee should understand and share in the Yale New Haven Health System Vision, support our Mission, and live our Values. These values - integrity, patient-centered, respect, accountability, and compassion - must guide what we do, as individuals and professionals, every day.

Yale New Haven Health, Connecticut’s largest and most comprehensive healthcare system, invites physicians to join the established Oncology Hospitalist Service at Smilow Cancer Hospital, a nationally recognized leader in cancer care.

As an Oncology Hospitalist, you will play a vital role in the care of hospitalized oncology patients, providing comprehensive medical management throughout the inpatient stay. Responsibilities include emergency evaluation and triage, hospital admissions, diagnostic assessment, development of evidence-based treatment plans, and coordination of care across multidisciplinary teams.

Successful candidates will demonstrate strong clinical judgment, a commitment to delivering high-quality, patient-centered care, and the ability to communicate effectively with patients, families, primary care providers, oncology specialists, consulting physicians, and other members of the healthcare team.

In addition to patient care responsibilities, physicians will contribute to the education and mentorship of residents, medical students, advanced practice providers, nurses, and other clinical staff. The Oncology Hospitalist plays a key role in ensuring safe transitions of care, supporting patients from admission through discharge while maintaining a focus on quality, safety, service excellence, and patient satisfaction.

Physicians are encouraged to participate in hospital and departmental committees and other leadership opportunities that support the ongoing advancement of patient care and clinical excellence.

We welcome applications from board-certified or board-eligible physicians trained in:

  • Internal Medicine
  • Hematology/Oncology
  • Palliative Care

Join a collaborative team dedicated to delivering exceptional cancer care at one of the nation’s leading academic health systems.
