    How you make a difference

    The Oncology Nurse Practitioner provides direct care and medical services to patients under the supervision of a physician. This role includes evaluating patients, developing treatment plans, managing chronic care clinics, and responding to medical emergencies. They ensure proper documentation, follow established medical protocols, and maintain confidentiality standards. The NP also contributes to institutional committees and collaborates with internal resources before seeking offsite referrals. Responsibilities include maintaining medical standards, ensuring patient privacy, and supporting emergency and chronic care management.

    Key Responsibilities

    • Provide direct care and treatment planning in collaboration with clinical advisors

    • Conduct sick call visits, chronic care clinics, and infirmary rounds

    • Respond to emergencies and perform on-site urgent treatment

    • Ensure SOAP-based documentation and compliance with formulary guidelines

    • Participate in institutional medical committees and maintain confidentiality standards

    Qualifications & Requirements

    EDUCATION

    • Completion of a master's program in nursing (NPs)

    • Specialty in Oncology required

    EXPERIENCE

    • Previous correctional/detention facility experience

    • Minimum two (2) years' experience

    LICENSES/CERTIFICATIONS

    • Unrestricted and Current License, Certification, or Registration in State of practice

    • Current Drug Enforcement Agency (DEA) registration

    • Current lifesaving BLS and PALS (where applicable) certification through AHA
