Summary
The Pharmacy Technician Trainee is a student employed by the center while enrolled in a pharmacy technician training program approved by the Florida Board of Pharmacy for the purposes of obtaining practical training to become a registered pharmacy technician. A pharmacy technician trainee performs pharmacy tasks and duties as delegated by a licensed pharmacist that do not fall within the purview of Florida Statue 465.003(13). All such delegated acts will be performed under the direct supervision of a licensed pharmacist as outlined in Florida Statue 465.014.
These supervised tasks and duties include but are not limited to:
Registered Pharmacy technician may also perform assistance in the compounding, preparation and distribution of pharmaceutical and investigational preparations following USP standards and hospital policy, inventory stewardship, keeping records and making reports required by law, and processing of documents required by the hospital.
The Oncology Pharmacy Technician Trainee is co-enrolled in an employer-sponsored training program as outlined in FL Rule 64B16-26.351 as a condition of their employment, and is eligible to convert to Oncology Pharmacy Technician upon successful completion of the program and registration as a pharmacy technician with the board of pharmacy.

The pharmacy technician trainee must complete all requirements within six months of enrollment/employment and commit to a minimum of 2 years employment as a pharmacy technician at Moffitt.
