What Youll Do
Provide expert nursing care to patients with hematology, medical oncology, and bone marrow transplant needs
Perform bedside procedures including CVC placements and bone marrow biopsies
Administer medication via barcode medication administration systems
Monitor patient status and respond promptly to changes
Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to develop and implement care plans
Use Epic EHR for documentation and care tracking
Support patients and families through education and emotional support
What You Need
Required:
Active RN license in Louisiana or eligible for reciprocity
BLS and ACLS certifications
Previous experience in oncology, hematology, or critical care
Preferred:
Experience with Bone Marrow Transplant (BMT), GYN, Surgical Oncology units
Familiarity with Epic electronic health records
About the Assignment
You will join a specialized oncology unit that supports patients undergoing treatments such as bone marrow transplants and acute leukemia care. The unit maintains a 1:4 nurse-to-patient ratio, and float coverage is required. First-time travelers are welcome. The team commits to a supportive environment with continuous training and comprehensive resources needed for excellent patient outcomes. Expect to work in a positive-pressure, 7-bed unit equipped with advanced IV pumps, barcode medication systems, and bedside monitoring tools.
