What You’ll Do

• Provide specialized nursing care to oncology patients, including hematology and bone marrow transplant cases
• Administer medications and treatments, including bedside CVC placements and bone marrow biopsies
• Utilize Epic electronic health record system for patient documentation
• Manage patient assessments and monitor vital signs continuously
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to deliver individualized patient care
• Ensure adherence to safety protocols, including barcode medication administration
• Support patients and families through their treatment journeys with compassion and professionalism

What You Need
Required:

• Active RN license in Louisiana or eligible to obtain
• BLS and ACLS certifications
• Experience with Epic electronic health records
• Previous oncology or hematology nursing preferred

Preferred:

• ONS certification
• Experience with bedside CVC placements and bone marrow biopsies
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-acuity environment

About the Assignment
Join a dedicated team within a 7-bed positive pressure wing cancer treatment unit, specializing in hematology, medical oncology, and bone marrow transplant (BMT) patients. You will work closely with a multidisciplinary team to provide bedside care, including CVC placements and biopsies, using state-of-the-art equipment such as Alaris pumps and barcode medication systems. The unit welcomes first-time travelers and offers a supportive environment for professional growth.
