Under general supervision and in accordance with established policies, procedures, and professional standards, the Oncology Services Coordinator provides administrative and operational support to a clinical practice. This role requires a working knowledge of office operations, strong organizational skills, and a commitment to high-quality customer service. The coordinator supports the efficient day-to-day functioning of the practice by serving as a key point of contact for patients, providers, and the interdisciplinary care team. Responsibilities include facilitating communication, supporting scheduling and coordination processes, maintaining accurate patient and practice information, and assisting with activities that promote timely access to care and optimal clinic flow. The position contributes to operational efficiency, patient satisfaction, and the overall success of the clinical service line while performing all duties in alignment with the mission, vision, and values of Tampa General Hospital.
Essential Functions:
Provide administrative and operational support to an oncology clinical practice to ensure efficient day-to-day operations
Serve as a primary administrative point of contact for patients, providers, and members of the interdisciplinary care team
Facilitate effective communication and coordination across clinical, administrative, and ancillary services
Support scheduling and coordination processes to promote timely access to care and optimized clinic flow
Maintain accurate, complete, and up-to-date patient and practice information within electronic systems
Assist with patient appointment coordination in accordance with established service standards and workflows
Assist with administrative processes related to referrals, authorizations, and documentation as needed
Provide high-quality customer service by responding to patient inquiries and supporting patient needs in a professional and timely manner
Adhere to organizational policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements, including patient privacy and confidentiality standards
Participate in cross-coverage and team-based support activities as required to maintain clinic operations
Associate's Degree in Business or Business Administration.
Minimum of 2 years' experience in a clinical setting.
