Location: Denver, CO (Onsite/Travel Required)

A growing healthcare organization specializing in oncology clinical research is seeking an experienced Oncology Learning Support Specialist to provide hands-on training, coaching, and operational support to clinical research teams across assigned sites, primarily in Colorado and California. This role is ideal for an experienced clinical research professional with a strong oncology background who can translate complex research requirements into practical training that improves protocol execution, regulatory compliance, patient safety, recruitment, and study operations.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide hands-on training, coaching, onboarding, and competency development for oncology clinical research staff and investigators.
  • Train teams on protocol workflows, patient visits, investigational product accountability, adverse event documentation, sponsor expectations, SOPs, GCP, and regulatory requirements.
  • Support complex oncology studies, including Radioligand Therapy (RLT), CAR-T, immunotherapy, targeted therapies, and other emerging treatments.
  • Assess training needs and performance gaps; develop targeted learning interventions, corrective training, and improvement plans.
  • Monitor training effectiveness through competency assessments, observations, quality metrics, and operational performance.
  • Support study startup, protocol implementation, investigator orientation, and site activation readiness.
  • Develop and maintain training plans, educational materials, job aids, and SOPs.
  • Partner with site leadership, investigators, CRAs, sponsors, and cross-functional teams to address quality findings, monitoring feedback, audits, and inspections.
  • Promote best practices that improve protocol compliance, patient safety, recruitment, documentation, data quality, and study execution.
  • Serve as a mentor, preceptor, and subject matter expert to clinical research teams.
  • Travel to assigned sites as needed, potentially up to 40%, sometimes on short notice.

Qualifications
  • Bachelor s degree in Nursing, Life Sciences, Public Health, or a related field preferred; equivalent experience may be considered.
  • 5+ years of clinical research experience, including 3+ years supporting oncology clinical trials in a patient-facing or site operations role.
  • Demonstrated experience training, mentoring, coaching, or developing training materials for clinical research teams.
  • Strong knowledge of GCP, ICH guidelines, FDA regulations, IRB requirements, and sponsor expectations.
  • Strong understanding of oncology clinical trial workflows, patient care, treatment pathways, endpoints, adverse events, patient safety, and protocol compliance.
  • Experience with chemotherapy, immunotherapy, targeted therapies, and emerging oncology treatments. RLT or CAR-T experience strongly preferred.
  • Strong communication, presentation, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office 365, EDC, EMR, eDocs, and CTMS platforms. LMS experience preferred.
  • Experience developing or revising SOPs and supporting process improvement initiatives.
  • Ability to work independently, manage multiple priorities, build relationships, and adapt training to learner and operational needs.

Work Requirements
  • Remote or office-based role with significant onsite responsibilities.
  • Up to 40% regional travel, primarily within Colorado and California.
  • Reliable transportation and ability to drive required.
  • Ability to lift 35 pounds and work around clinical and laboratory environments, including potential exposure to bodily fluids.
  • Occasional evening or weekend work may be required.
