Position Overview
Facilitate assigned online classes via learning management system according to approved curriculum.  Manage course deliverables and student engagement. Contribute to committees and academic initiatives. Complete performance development and in-service training, as mandated.  Possess significant knowledge, experience and understanding of Ohio real estate laws and industry practices.   Assigned classes are part of the online Associate Degree of Business in Business and Management program at Hondros College of
Business.  
 
Position Requirements & Major Responsibilities
  • Update and manage syllabus and course materials; ensure all links are current, files are attached, and information is correct; and set due dates and quiz/exam access.
  • Open and close the course as scheduled, including sending out weekly welcome and summary communications, posting grades, and informing the registrar or advising of any student performance concerns.
  • Facilitate instructional materials at scheduled times according to the established text, syllabus, and weekly course outlines, to ensure objectives and outlines are met within institutional development guidelines.
  • Reinforce student-faculty engagement requirements through active participation in discussions and interactive and synchronous activities, and through objective evaluation and formative and summative feedback of student performance on assignments based on rubrics, professional experience, and learning outcomes.
  • Recommend course revisions and updates to Academic Chair; notify College regarding malfunctioning LMS or missing course content.
  • Review text and course changes with the Academic Chair and Faculty Manager and other faculty, as necessary.
  • Complete and post grades and feedback by the end of the week for the previous weeks' assignments.
  • Manage course, including student inquiries, timely communication (within 48 hours, preferably less), tutoring and academic advising, and any course-related concerns in a professional, empathetic, and fair manner.
  • Maintain records of student attendance, progress and grades.
  • Enforce the College's policy and procedures as outlined in the Catalog, as well as the faculty handbook. Ensure compliance with regulatory and accreditation criteria.
  • Participate in committees to support curriculum, advising, student satisfaction, and other academic initiatives.
  • Participate in accreditation, approval, and regulatory planning, meetings, and information gathering.
  • Complete annual development plans as mandated, including attending professional development and in-service training.
 
Qualifications
  • Master's degree in subject area (or master’s degree and at least 18 semester hours in subject area) required to teach general education courses.
  • Bachelor's degrees and appropriate certifications in related areas of teaching for non-general education courses.
  • Official transcripts from an accredited college recognized by the U.S. Department of Education is required.
  • Previous college-level online instruction of adult/second career students and experience in a proprietary school or corporate training strongly preferred. 
  • Candidate must hold an active, unencumbered Ohio Real Estate Broker license.
  •  Must have computer, monitor, and camera with updated hardware and software and must be able to meet the confidentiality and security requirements as outlined in the Catalog.
