Description

Instructor teaches a small group of online students seeking to improve their English speaking, listening, reading, and writing skills. Instructor delivers instruction via weekly Zoom sessions using curriculum provided by the college. Instructor also monitors students' progress on weekly assignments in an online portal. Candidates should have good communication and organizational skills. The ability to speak Spanish is helpful but is not required.

Primary Duties

• Facilitates instructional lessons to help adult learners improve their English skills
• Delivers engaging instructional sessions for adult learners
• Helps motivate and encourage students to persist in class
• Maintains accurate records and related paperwork to be submitted to the office in a punctual manner
• Sustains positive, professional relationships and communication with students as well as college staff
• Communicates effectively with the administrative team in person, through email, and by telephone
• Participates in staff development sessions, trainings, and other college functions as appropriate
• No outside class duties required

Minimum Qualifications

• Associate's or bachelor's degree suggested but not required
• Working knowledge of personal computers and related software (email, web browser)
• Good interpersonal and communication skills
• Considerable discretion in the handling of confidential information and sensitive materials

or an equivalent combination of education and relevant experience that provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities.

Preferred Qualifications

• Previous experience teaching English to non-native speakers
