Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated Pharmacy Technician to join our team with a schedule of Monday to Friday from 12:00PM EST - 9:30PM EST, including every other weekend from 10:30 AM to 7:30 PM. The role involves preparing prescriptions for final verification and ensuring efficiency and accuracy in the pharmacy operations.

Responsibilities

  • Fill daily drug orders accurately and efficiently under the supervision of a pharmacist.
  • Assist in processing and recycling/disposal of returned drugs according to procedures.
  • Prepack frequently ordered medications and label/store them during low volume times.
  • Manually package materials and products.
  • Pull and pick medications from shelving and storage areas for prepack racks.
  • Apply labels to blister cards and scan products for accuracy checks.
  • Alert the pharmacist on duty about any medication/product scanning issues.
  • Maintain designated workstation areas and replenish stock supplies as needed.
  • Follow all applicable government regulations, including HIPAA.
  • Comply with departmental policies regarding safety, attendance, and dress code.
  • Overtime, holidays, and weekend work may be required.

Essential Skills

  • High School diploma or equivalent.
  • Ability to work at a moderate speed.
  • Proficiency in reading, writing, speaking, and understanding English.
  • Possession and maintenance of a Clear and Active FL Pharmacy Technician License issued by the FL Board of Pharmacy.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Previous pharmacy technician experience.
  • Experience in long-term care is a plus.
  • Mail-order experience is advantageous.
  • Skill in pharmacy order entry, filling, and labeling.
  • Experience with insurance, prior authorization, and health care.

Work Environment

The role requires intermittent sitting, standing, stooping, bending, and walking throughout the day, with the possibility of standing or sitting for seven to ten hours. Extended hours may be necessary. The position demands finger dexterity for operating office equipment and the ability to lift up to 25 pounds occasionally. Visual acuity is needed for reading fine print, and specific vision abilities include close vision, color vision, and the ability to adjust focus. The employee must be able to hear normal voice sounds. The work environment characteristics are representative of those encountered while performing essential functions of the role.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Tampa, FL.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $22.00 - $22.00/hr.
