JM Test Systems is looking for a detail-oriented and customer-focused Electrical Safety Technician to join our team located at Mt Braddock, PA. This role involves working in both a lab environment and field environment to perform testing, inspection, and certification of electrical safety equipment and test instruments to ensure they meet industry standards and manufacturer specifications. The ideal candidate has a strong attention to detail, solid communication skills, and a passion for safety and precision.

What You’ll Do:
Perform functional testing, calibration, and certification of electrical safety equipment including but not limited to:
Insulated gloves, sleeves, blankets, and line hoses
Hot sticks, grounding cables, and voltage detectors
Electrical meters, multimeters, and clamp meters
Conduct high-voltage dielectric testing to ensure equipment safety compliance (ASTM, OSHA, or NETA standards).
Test and troubleshoot low- and medium-voltage electrical test instruments for accuracy and performance.
Safely operate test benches, voltage sources, and other lab equipment.
Maintain accurate documentation of all testing, inspections, and results per company and accreditation requirements.
Identify non-conformances and report failed items for repair or decommissioning.
Assist with equipment setup, teardown, and preventative maintenance of test stations.
Manage and track inventory of safety equipment, tools, and materials.
Communicate test results and status clearly with supervisors, team members, and occasionally customers.
Follow all safety protocols and wear appropriate PPE when working in high-voltage environments.
What we are looking for:
High school diploma or equivalent
Basic understanding of electrical safety concepts and equipment
Ability to work in a fast-paced, physically active environment
Comfortable working with high-voltage equipment following strict safety procedures
Strong attention to detail and excellent record-keeping skills
Basic computer proficiency (Microsoft Excel, Word, or internal systems)
Preferred:
Associate’s degree or technical certification in Electrical Technology, Electronics, or related field
Previous experience in a calibration, test lab, or industrial electrical setting
Familiarity with NETA, ASTM, or ANSI standards for electrical safety equipment
Experience working in an ISO 17025 accredited lab

Traveling Incentives:
Technicians earn $2.00/hour additional pay when assigned to a project.
Meal subsistence provided when traveling 50+ miles and away for 12+ hours.

Work Environment:
Lab based (indoors) and Field based (outdoors)

Schedule:
40 hour work week
Monday to Friday
Overtime as needed
Weekends as needed
