The Department of Community and Behavioral Health Sciences at Augusta University School of Public Health invites applications for a 12-month, tenure-track faculty position at the rank of Assistant Professor, Associate Professor, or Professor. Interest and ability to launch a cohesive, extramurally funded research portfolio will be an important factor in the selection of candidates. The candidate will also be able to teach and mentor graduate students, with an expected teaching load of 2 courses per year.

Responsibilities

 

Teaching - 25% Teach two courses per year in your field of expertise Oversee graduate student theses and capstone projects

Service - 5% Serve on department, school, and campus committees Serve on community, state, and national committees and support community events Conduct peer-review for journals, funding agencies, and professional societies

Research/Scholarship - 70% Build and maintain a program of high impact research as Principal Investigator Serve as a team scientist on other AU research (as Co-I) Solicit extramural funding to support research projects Publish regularly in high impact journals Present research at regional, national, and international scientific meetings Conduct community-engaged activities to disseminate and implement your research

Required Qualifications

 

Doctoral Degree (DrPH or PhD) in Public Health related discipline, including health behavior, sociology, psychology, preventive medicine, or epidemiology Working with projects related to rural and underserved communities

Assistant Professor - Early level career as a faculty member with appropriate post graduate training Associate Professor - Mid level career faculty member with at least five years at rank of Assistant Professor or comparable training, background, and experience Professor - Senior level career faculty member with at least five years at the rank of Associate Professor or comparable training, background, and experience

Required faculty employment qualifications for all USG institutions and all academic ranks within these institutions shall be:

Consistent with the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools Commission on Colleges (SACSCOC) requirements for institutional accreditation Evidence of ability as a teacher Evidence of activity as a scholar and ability in all other duties assigned Successful experience (which will necessarily be waived for those just entering the academic profession who meet all other requirements) Desirable personal qualities judged on the basis of personal interview, complete biographical data, and recommendations

This position is fiscal year based and works year-round. The intended work commitment or full-time equivalent (FTE) for this position is 1.0 and considered full-time.

Assistant Professor - Salary and compensation is commensurate with education, experience, and achievements. The salary is subject to availability of funds. Associate Professor - Salary and compensation is commensurate with education, experience, and achievements. The salary is subject to availability of funds. Professor - Salary and compensation is commensurate with education, experience, and achievements. The salary is subject to availability of funds.

The Augusta University School of Public Health was established in 2023 to address Georgias distinct public health challenges through exceptional education, innovative research, and collaborative community engagement.
