Description
An OPEX accountant handles the financial aspects of day-to-day operational expenses and capital expenditures within the company. Primary responsibilities include managing and analyzing business expenses, ensuring accurate recording in financial statements, delivering reports to relevant departments, and providing insights to optimize operational costs
Job Duties
Review and process invoices and related cover sheets from various departments and input all data in accounting system (SAP R3)
Preparing operational expenditure payment batch
Reviewing and verifying expense reports for various departments to ensure compliance with generally accepted accounting principles and company policies
Reconciling operational expense accounts to ensure accuracy and identify any discrepancies
Managing prepaid expense, accrued expense and accrued account schedule
Managing and tracking corporate fixed asset with depreciation schedule
Managing, monitoring and reconciling operational support inventory
Performing monthly, quarterly, and annual closing
Preparing and analyzing financial statements related to operation expenses, including
balance sheets and income statements
Analyze spending trends and variances to identify areas for cost reduction or improvement
Other special projects as assigned.
Qualifications
Must be eligible to work in the US.
Bachelor’s degree in accounting or a business-related field (Finance, Economics, or Statistics preferred). Equivalent experience and a strong knowledge of accounting principles may be considered in lieu of a degree.
1–3 years of experience in an applicable field is required. H Mart provides an extensive
training program, and candidates with equivalent office experience will be considered.
General understanding of accounting processes and functions.
Excellent communication skills and the ability to work in a cross-functional team environment.
Working knowledge of Microsoft Excel and Word.
Experience with computerized accounting systems is a plus (SAP R/3 or S/4HANA Cloud preferred).
Must speak, read, and write Korean; basic English comprehension required.
