Job Summary

Monday thru Friday 7-3:30pm, no Holidays or Weekends. Summary Responsible for ensuring excellent patient care, maintaining safety standards, and providing medical assistance in the operating room.Does this position require Patient Care? YesEssential FunctionsPromotes a philosophy of patient/family-focused care through cordial greetings and interactions with patients, families, and hospital personnel.Provides hospital and unit orientation information for guests, patients, and families.Demonstrates awareness of hospital systems and procedures, the location of all departments, procedure areas, and other patient services.Refers patients, families, and others to appropriate resources.Independently transports and assists in the transfer of patients.Properly identifies patients utilizing two approved identifiers.Ensures safety and support measures during patient transfers (i.e., bedrails raised, patient covered with a blanket and kept warm).Is aware of special precautions required when transferring patients on precautions.EducationHigh School Diploma or Equivalent requiredCan this role accept experience in lieu of a degree?NoLicenses and CredentialsExperienceMedical Office/Hospital/Managed Care Experience 0-1 year required and Operating Room Experience 0-1 year preferredKnowledge, Skills and Abilities- Must be able to comprehend written directions for mixing cleaning supplies and ordering supplies.- Must be aware of proper body mechanics when assisting in patient transfer and lifting of heavy objects.- Strong interpersonal and communication skills to interact effectively with other health care members.- Ability to work collaboratively with the surgical team.- Must constantly be alert and attentive to progress of O.R. schedule to meet tight deadlines.
