A hospital in Montrose is seeking an experienced Operating Room Circulator Registered Nurse to join its surgical services team. Position Overview
The Operating Room Circulator RN plays a key role in coordinating patient care before, during, and after surgical procedures. This position serves as the primary patient advocate in the operating room, ensuring patient safety, maintaining surgical standards, and supporting seamless communication among members of the surgical team.
Key Responsibilities
• Coordinate and oversee patient care throughout the surgical process.
• Perform preoperative assessments and verify patient readiness for surgery.
• Maintain a safe and efficient operating room environment.
• Ensure necessary instruments, equipment, and supplies are available and functioning properly.
• Collaborate closely with surgeons, anesthesia providers, surgical technologists, and other healthcare professionals.
• Monitor adherence to sterile technique and patient safety protocols.
• Document surgical procedures, patient status, and nursing interventions accurately and thoroughly.
• Advocate for patients throughout all phases of the perioperative experience.
• Participate in on-call coverage as part of the regular schedule.
Qualifications
• Minimum of 1 year of Operating Room experience as a Registered Nurse.
• Active Registered Nurse license or eligibility for licensure.
• Strong organizational, communication, and critical-thinking skills.
• Ability to perform effectively in a fast-paced surgical setting.
