Our O.R Fellowship Program offers a dynamic experience that will positively impact your ability to provide quality, compassionate care to patients as you transition from student nurse to professional nurse. With support from the OR Educators and your preceptors you will participate in Perioperative 101 where you will learn how to scrub and circulate. You will develop clinical skills, enhance your professional development & individual strengths as you uncover your passion as an Operating Room nurse.

For nurses experienced in the O.R: Orientations are bi-weekly and required to orientate during Day shift (7a-3:30p)

This position is referral eligible and qualifies for a location differential.

Shift: Mid Shift (11a-9:30p or 11a-11:30p)

Must live within 45 minutes of Methodist Hospital

Patient Population/Diagnoses: Level 1 Trauma Services. Orthopedics, Orthopedic trauma, Neurosurgery Brain & spine, Cardiovascular, Peripheral Vascular, General Surgery, Ears Nose and Throat, Gynecology, plastic surgery, Thoracic, and Urology

Number of Beds: 29 OR's and 2 are hybrid and 1 IMRIS

Unit Successes/Designations/National Recognition: Magnet

Training to scrub and circulate

Unit Culture: Active and engagement team member lead committees. Interdisciplinary teams working on process improvement.

Qualifications

Requires Associates of Nursing (ASN); Bachelor of Nursing (BSN) preferred.

Requires current state of Indiana license as Registered Nurse.

Registered Nurse (RN) must have graduated from a nationally accredited nursing program.

Exceptions: Candidates who have not graduated from a nationally accredited program may be considered if they possess more than two years of acute care experience. Such exceptions are subject to review and approval by the Chief Nursing Officer (CNO).

Requires Basic Life Support certification through the AHA.

Other Advanced Life Support certifications may be required per unit/department specialty according to patient care policies.
