Operating Room Registered Nurse (OR RN)

A leading hospital is seeking an experienced Operating Room Registered Nurse (OR RN) to join its surgical services team on contract or travel contract. The OR RN plays a critical role in providing safe, high-quality patient care before, during, and after surgical procedures.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide direct patient care in the operating room, including pre-op assessment, intra-op monitoring, and post-op recovery.
• Prepare and maintain the operating room with sterile instruments, surgical equipment, and supplies.
• Monitor vital signs and patient condition throughout surgery.
• Assist surgeons and anesthesiologists by anticipating needs and providing instruments and materials.
• Enforce sterile technique and infection prevention protocols.
• Accurately document surgical procedures, patient status, and care provided.
• Collaborate closely with the surgical team to ensure safe and efficient operations.
• Adhere to hospital policies, Joint Commission standards, and OSHA requirements.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) required.
• Minimum of 2 years of Operating Room RN experience.
• Robotic surgery and orthopedic/neuro surgery experience required.
• BLS certification (AHA required).
• ACLS and PALS certifications preferred.
• Strong clinical judgment, teamwork, and communication skills.
• Ability to stay calm and focused in high-pressure surgical settings.

Position Details:

• Schedule: 12-hour daytime shifts, 36 hours per week.
