    Operating Room Registered Nurse (RN) – San Diego, CA

     

    A healthcare organization is seeking an experienced Operating Room Registered Nurse (RN) to join its surgical services team. This opportunity is ideal for nursing professionals with experience supporting complex surgical procedures in a fast-paced perioperative environment.

    Responsibilities

    • Conduct preoperative patient assessments and prepare patients for surgery

    • Verify patient information, procedure details, and surgical sites according to established safety standards

    • Administer medications, intravenous therapies, and prescribed treatments

    • Assist with patient positioning, surgical preparation, and intraoperative care

    • Monitor patient conditions before, during, and after procedures

    • Recognize and respond appropriately to urgent or emergent situations

    • Collaborate with surgeons, anesthesia providers, and surgical team members to coordinate patient care

    • Maintain accurate clinical documentation and patient records

    • Educate patients and family members regarding procedures, recovery expectations, and postoperative care

    • Support infection prevention, quality improvement, and patient safety initiatives

    • Participate in a variety of surgical procedures, including specialty cases as assigned

    Qualifications

    • Current Registered Nurse (RN) license or eligibility for licensure

    • Graduate of an accredited nursing program

    • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification

    • Previous operating room or perioperative nursing experience required

    • Advanced life support certifications preferred or ability to obtain

    • Strong clinical judgment, critical-thinking, and communication skills

    • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced surgical environment
