In this role, you will ensure that Accounts Payable (AP), Accounts Receivable (AR), Procurement, and Commission processes are efficient,accurate, and aligned with financial reporting requirements. This role requiresstrongaccounting knowledge,analyticalproblem-solvingskills,attention to detail, and the ability to navigate complex operational processes.As the Operational Accountant, you willlead process improvement initiatives acrossthese functions, drive operational efficiencies, and support ongoingenhancementswhilefacilitatingrecurring monthly and regulatory reporting. You willbuild strong relationships across the organization and contribute to the continued growth and success of a high-performing Finance team.This position is open to candidates in the Seattle area. You will have a hybrid remote/in-office schedule where you will work from our casual, pet-friendly office at least 3 days a week.Responsibilities:Ensure AP, AR, Procurement, and Commission processes are efficient,accurate, andaligned withGAAP requirements.Calculate,validate, and process commissions accurately based on salesand businessdata.Oversee AP, AR, and Commission system and process changes, ensuring proper testing and validation.Analyze AP, AR, and Commissions data to support informed decision-making across the business.Lead initiativesto implement a procurement function at TrupanionPartnercross-functionallytoidentifyprocess improvementopportunitiesandimplementsolutions that enhance efficiency and data accuracy.Supportaudits and ensure compliance with internal controls and regulatory requirements.Perform monthly account reconciliations and support cash forecasting and analysis.Qualifications:Bachelor'sdegree or higher in Accounting, Finance, Business,or a related fieldpreferred3+ years of accounting or finance operations experience, including AP, AR, and CommissionprocessesExperience supporting1099processing, annual filings, and state reporting requirements,including Unclaimed Property, preferredAdvanced Microsoft Excel skillsrequiredExperience with Workday or other ERP systems preferredSkills:Strong accounting knowledge,includingasolidunderstanding of AP, AR, Procurement, and relatedaccounting principlesExceptional attention to detail and accuracyStrong critical thinking and problem-solvingabilitiesProven ability to analyze financial data and translate insights into actionable recommendationsExcellent communication and collaboration skillsAbility to manage multiple priorities, adapt to changing business needs, and meet deadlinesUnderstanding of 1099 and unclaimed property processesSelf-motivated, proactive, and committed to continuous improvementCompensation:The base hourlyrange for this position is $33- $38on a full-time schedule.Along with base compensation, Trupanion employees are currently eligible for monthly bonuses.We want all employees to be invested inTrupanion'ssuccess, so we grant Restricted Stock Units to all new team members.
