The Operational Excellence (OpEx) Coordinator – Infrastructure supports enterprise operations by providing technical expertise, program development, and continuous improvement support for electrical and utility infrastructure activities.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
· This position typically has no direct supervisory responsibilities but may, when appropriate, provide technical guidance, coordination, or functional leadership for Infrastructure training, qualification, competency, or Operational Excellence initiatives.
Essential Functions:
· Serve as a corporate technical resource for electrical and utility infrastructure operations.
· Partner with Infrastructure Safety, Operations, field leadership, trainers, and subject matter experts to understand work practices, technical requirements, workforce qualifications, and emerging risks.
· Develop, implement, and maintain Infrastructure training, qualification, OJT, competency, and technical-development programs.
· Translate technical, regulatory, and operational requirements into practical procedures, training materials, qualification criteria, assessments, and field guidance.
· Conduct field engagement and validation activities to ensure programs accurately reflect operational realities and remain practical and effective.
· Identify gaps, inconsistencies, and opportunities for standardization or improvement across Infrastructure training and qualification systems.
· Support development and maintenance of role-based training matrices, competency assessments, practical evaluations, and employee qualification requirements.
· Support Qualified Trainer and train-the-trainer initiatives related to Infrastructure work activities.
· Participate in Learning Events, technical reviews, corrective-action development, and other improvement activities when Infrastructure expertise is required.
· Monitor applicable regulations, industry standards, equipment, technology, and utility work practices and recommend changes to company programs as appropriate.
· Support the integration of acquired Infrastructure businesses, programs, work practices, and technical knowledge into XKIG Corporate Safety and Operational Excellence systems.
· Collect, synthesize, and communicate field observations, technical needs, program performance, and improvement opportunities to leadership.
· Demonstrate agility in responding to changing business needs, acquisitions, customer requirements, and operational priorities.

· Combination of office- or remote-based work with regular engagement in operational, training, and field environments.
Travel Requirements:
· Regular travel is required to support field engagement, training, assessments, program development, acquisitions, and initiatives across the company geographical footprint.
Required education and experience:
· Significant experience in electric utility transmission, distribution, line construction, maintenance, or related utility Infrastructure operations.
· Demonstrated knowledge of utility linework practices, electrical hazards, equipment, and employee qualification requirements.
· Experience in technical training, field supervision, safety, workforce qualification, apprenticeship, or related utility operations.
· Demonstrated ability to apply technical knowledge in real-world operational environments.
· Equivalent combination of education, technical training, and relevant industry experience may be considered.
Preferred education and experience:
· Journeyman Lineman, Journeyman Lineworker, or equivalent recognized utility qualification.
· 15+ years of relevant electrical utility or Infrastructure experience.
· Previous experience as a foreman, crew leader, technical trainer, Safety professional, or technical program resource.
· Experience developing or supporting OJT, apprenticeship, competency, or employee qualification programs.
· Working knowledge of OSHA requirements applicable to electric power transmission and distribution, including 29 CFR 1910.269.
· CUSP, CHST, CSP, OSHA Outreach Trainer, or similar professional or technical credential.
· Experience with aerial devices, digger derricks, grounding, electrical protective equipment, and related utility equipment.
· Experience supporting multiple operating units, acquisitions, or organizational integration.
