Radwell International is seeking an Operational Excellence - Facilities-Safety Specialist SME. The Operational Excellence Facilities & Safety Specialist is a hands-on practitioner who ensures safe, efficient, and continuously improving site operations. This practitioner will have responsibility for Operational Excellence Lean-CI Facilities & Safety EHS to support day-to-day execution while building a culture of everyday problem solving.
As a trusted site resource, the Specialist champions safety, reliability, and continuous improvement-working directly with employees, leaders, and external partners to maintain facilities, ensure regulatory compliance, and deliver measurable improvements in quality delivery, efficiency, and customer experience.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
• Execute site Operational Excellence and Safety training plans. • Facilitate employee training sessions on Lean tools, tier meeting effectiveness, and safe work practices. • Collect, validate, and maintain site KPIs, bowlers, and metrics for daily, monthly, and quarterly business reviews. • Provide administrative and logistical support for improvement events, training, and audits. • Reinforce data-driven behaviors by supporting KPI-based problem solving and action tracking.
Operational Excellence & Continuous Improvement
Implement a site-level culture of continuous improvement and everyday problem solving. Lead and facilitate smaller-scale data-driven Kaizen, 5S, RCCM, and process improvement events.
• Analyze processes to identify waste, risk, cost, and improvement opportunities. • Participate in daily accountability tier performance dialogues. • Capture, track, and report improvement results, savings, and maturity metrics. • Support site deployment through execution of Lean-CI strategic initiatives.
Facilities Operations & Maintenance
Facilitate and execute the safe and efficient operation of site facilities, including HVAC, electrical, mechanical, lighting, plumbing, conveyors, fire protection, and safety systems within qualification.
• Coordinate internal and outsourced services, janitorial, landscaping, waste management, vending, etc. • Maintain company assets, tools, equipment, and facility-related inventories. • Establish and execute preventive maintenance schedules and daily, weekly, monthly checklists. • Liaise with contractors, obtain quotes, and recommend solutions. • Maintain compliance for racking, pallet trucks, hoists, lifts, and material handling equipment. • Support recycling and sustainability activities under ISO Regulatory guidelines. • Maintain facility security, fire, and intrusion systems in compliance with regulations.
Safety & EHS Compliance
Support planning, implementation, and maintenance of site EHS programs in compliance with OSHA and applicable regulations.
• Manage and audit Safety across location. • Facilitate safety committee meetings and site incident investigations. • Coordinate and support safety training, 5S, Lockout/Tagout, PPE, forklift safety. • Conduct safety audits and walkthroughs across production and non-production areas. • Maintain safety equipment, fire extinguishers, eyewash stations, first aid supplies. • Support fire drills, emergency preparedness, and regulatory reporting (e.g., ISO, RIDL). • Maintain accurate and timely EHS documentation and records (e.g., SDS inspections).
Required Skills
• Foundational understanding of Lean-CI or structured problem-solving concepts (e.g., 5S standard work, root cause analysis). • Comfort working with KPIs, basic data analysis, and visual management tools. • Strong communication, collaboration, and facilitation skills. • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, exposure to dashboards or ERP systems is beneficial. • Curiosity, adaptability, and a strong desire to learn and improve. • Strong analytical and critical thinking skills, thinking out of the box. • Ability to partner with and persuade a diverse range of organizational levels and establish positive working relationships. • Experience in hands-on maintenance and equipment care. • Exposure to Lean Continuous Improvement, EHS, or facilities management preferred. • Experience working in regulated environments (OSHA, ISO, GMP, customs, shipping, safety compliance) is a plus. • Demonstrated commitment to ethical conduct, leadership development, and continuous improvement.
Required Experience
• 2-year Associate degree or technical certification in Electronics or related field preferred. • 5 years of hands-on technical repair experience and/or technical training preferred. • Prior experience training, mentoring, or coaching others strongly preferred. • Exposure to Lean Continuous Improvement or problem-solving methodologies (e.g., Six Sigma, Green Belt, Black Belt) is a plus - formal certification not required. • Experience supporting projects, teams, or improvement initiatives in a team-based environment is a plus. • Technical knowledge of electronic or industrial products is highly desirable.
