Operations Accountant

Adecco is searching for an Operations Accountant for a great manufacturing company in Andover! The ideal candidate has a background in Accounting in a Manufacturing setting. This is a contract-to-hire opportunity.

Hours: 8:00AM-5:00PM, Monday-Friday

Pay: $37-$45/hour DOE

Position Summary:
Responsible for manufacturing finance activities, including product costing, inventory valuation, month-end close, and operational financial reporting. Supports site performance through cost and variance analysis while ensuring compliance with corporate accounting policies and procurement procedures. Reports to the Sr. Director, Finance.

Key Responsibilities:

• Maintain standard costs for materials, labor, and manufacturing overhead in SAP.

• Maintain accurate BOMs, routings, and production data in partnership with Operations and Engineering.

• Perform month-end close activities, including WIP calculations, variance settlements, and cost allocations.

• Analyze material, labor, overhead, scrap, and absorption variances and support root-cause analysis.

• Perform inventory valuation, reconciliation, and physical inventory activities.

• Prepare recurring cost, variance, and financial reports and support monthly/quarterly reporting.

• Provide cost analysis to Operations, Engineering, and Supply Chain teams and track cost improvement initiatives.

• Support annual budgeting, forecasting, financial modeling, and cost assumptions.

• Partner cross-functionally to improve financial data accuracy, processes, systems, and controls.

• Support new financial systems, reporting tools, VMI programs, and inventory/procurement improvements.

• Provide backup support for logistics and purchasing functions as needed.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance.

• 5+ years of progressive cost accounting or manufacturing finance experience.

• Experience with SAP or similar ERP systems.

• Manufacturing environment experience required.

• Strong analytical, organizational, and attention-to-detail skills.

• Experience with standard costing and internal controls preferred.

• Medical device or other regulated-industry experience preferred.

• Multinational company experience preferred.

• French and/or German proficiency is a plus.

Work Environment:

• Primarily office-based with time spent reviewing detailed financial/operational data.

• May enter manufacturing areas where PPE may be required.

• Ability to sit for extended periods and regularly use computers and office equipment.

Pay Details: $37.00 to $45.00 per hour
