JOB OVERVIEW:

Under the supervision of the Manager of Crane Operations, the Operations Administrative Coordinator provides clerical support for the Crane Division. Upholds the values of the GPA to promote Safety, Integrity, Respect, Community, Creativity, and Opportunity. Promotes a safe work environment by participating in safety initiatives and reporting unsafe conditions and behaviors.

JOB DUTIES:

  • Processes e-time payroll for the Crane Division.
  • Maintains familiarity with the Georgia Ports Authority policy regarding shift work, overtime, and benefits to provide assistance to the Manager of Crane Operations or Assistant Manager of Crane Operations.
  • Assists management in setting up and maintaining work/job procedures and standards for all employees. Ensures that employees have the materials and information necessary to perform their functions. Handles documentation unique to the Division.
  • Provides production reports to management as required
  • Interfaces with Ship Operations, Port Police, stevedores, and steamship lines in effectively operating the GPA cranes.
  • Handles special service functions and order preparations.
  • Assists management with detailed research.


JOB REQUIREMENTS:

Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities
Knowledge of general office procedures and operation of office equipment desired.Must be able to deal with customers and GPA personnel in a courteous and professional manner.Must have the ability to input data into CRT accurately and efficiently.Ability to type 35 wpm is desired.Ability to perform a large volume of numerical detail work with the speed and accuracy necessary. Ability to make accurate calculations on the calculator required.Experience with Microsoft Word and Excel desired.The ability to interact and communicate effectively and professionally with the GPA staff on all levels of administration including immediate supervisor, management, and co-workers required.Must be willing and able to work weekends, holidays, shift work, and overtime as needed.

Experience
  • Some college and familiarity with operations of shipping industry Preferred

  • Required High School Diploma or equivalent


  • Licenses & Certifications
  • TWIC - Transportation Worker Identification Credential Required Upon Hire
  • Driver's License - Valid state driver's license Required Upon Hire
