Position Title: Operations Analyst II

Location: On-Site at DARPA Headquarters, 675 N Randolph Street, Arlington, VA 22203

Work Type: Full Time, On-Site

Annual Salary Range: $80,000 - $90,000

Position Overview

The Operations Analyst II supports the DARPA Adaptive Capabilities Office (ACO) Front Office with analytical, operational, and programmatic support, applying analytical methods to help ACO leadership and Program Managers make informed decisions about resources, schedules, and program execution.

Roles and Responsibilities

• Apply analytical methods from mathematics, science, and engineering to support the coordination and management of ACO programs and the effective use of money, materials, equipment, and people

• Gather information from ACO Program Managers, financial systems, and external sources to build and maintain analytical models that describe program execution, resource utilization, and schedule performance

• Track technical and financial milestones across ACO programs and prepare regular status reports for the ACO Office Director, Deputy Director, Deputy Program Directors, and Assistant Director for Program Management

• Organize and support small meetings, working groups, and program reviews, including agenda preparation, attendee coordination, material distribution, and minutes capture

• Develop briefing slides, decision support materials, and analytical products that translate technical and financial data into clear recommendations for ACO leadership

• Support the preparation of program plans, quarterly review documentation, and ad hoc analytical reports in the format and schedule provided by the Government

• Coordinate with ACO Program Managers and external performers to validate data, resolve discrepancies, and ensure analytical products reflect the current state of each program

• Identify operational inefficiencies, recommend process improvements, and document standard operating procedures to support consistent execution across the office

• Maintain organized records and analytical work products on classified and unclassified systems, with quarterly reviews to ensure documents can be located within 15 minutes

• Communicate clearly and professionally with the Government and contractor teammates while clearly identifying as a contractor at all times during meetings, calls, and written correspondence

Required Qualifications

• Minimum of four (4) years of experience in operations research or operational analysis supporting federal Government, defense, or research and development clients

• Minimum of two (2) years of experience organizing small meetings and tracking technical and financial milestones

• Demonstrated skills in gathering information and applying mathematical or analytical techniques to describe and improve operational systems

• Demonstrated creativity, foresight, and mature judgment in anticipating and solving problems in financial, administrative, and program management

• Strong written and verbal communication skills and proficiency with Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, SharePoint, Teams)

• U.S. citizenship

Required Education

Bachelor's degree in engineering, sciences, or mathematics from an accredited institution.

Preferred Certifications

• INFORMS Certified Analytics Professional (CAP)

• Lean Six Sigma Green Belt or Black Belt

• Defense Acquisition University coursework in program management

• Project Management Professional (PMP)

Required Clearance Level

Active Top Secret (TS) clearance.
