Overview

The Operations Analyst role is responsible for providing support to analytical staff throughout the rating process to ensure AM Best's credit ratings are accurate, timely and appropriately documented. The objective of the role is to ensure quality, consistent and timely documentation of the process, as well as provide support and technical guidance to analysts on rating process systems and practices.

Responsibilities

  • Provide quality control during the rating process, including but not limited to rating committee presentations, the rating committee process, and the publication of ratings, reports, and press releases, as applicable• Proactively identify areas for operational process improvement, including the recommendation and implementation of approved solutions• Facilitate and review documentation, reports and publications created during the rating process for accuracy in accordance with corporate policies and procedures• Provide guidance pertaining to ratings systems for analytical staff and in some cases external clients regarding system features• Ensure that required documents (company reports, correspondence, etc.) that pertain to a company's rating are obtained on a timely basis and archived properly in the document retention system• Provide support to analytical staff in the processing of information provided by clients or other verified sources for insurance companies followed by AM Best• Proficiently navigate and understand AM Best systems and applications• Train/mentor other Operational staff members on functions of the position and department, if and when needed

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree preferred• Preferably 2 to 4 years of experience in a related field• Experience working in a highly regulated industry a plus• Experience developing workflow systems and quality controls a plus
