Works under the direction of the Deputy Director to provide operational
oversight, training leadership, and quality assurance for the Joint Office of Neighborhood Safety & Engagement.
Supports field teams in maintaining fidelity to safety protocols and prevention strategies. Develop and deliver
training curricula for the Community Safety Support Corps (CSSC) including onboarding, professional development,
and ongoing coaching aligned with national standards. Monitors field operations through real‑time communication
tools, providing guidance, troubleshooting, and escalation support as needed. Conducts site visits, performance
observations, and documentation reviews to ensure compliance with City standards, data requirements, and
trauma‑informed practices. Supports rapid response and stabilization activations by coordinating logistics,
communication flow, and interagency alignment. Assists with partnership coordination, including service providers,
outreach agencies, and precinct‑level stakeholders. Maintains accurate records of training activities, operational
updates, and field performance metrics. Contributes to continuous improvement of the City’s Comprehensive Public
Safety Ecosystem through feedback loops, data‑informed adjustments, and cross‑sector collaboration.
Must be able to communicate clearly both verbally and in writing, including
presenting to staff, partners, and public audiences. Requires the ability to operate general office equipment such as a
computer, telephone, and copier. Requires the ability to operate an automobile.

High school diploma or equivalent required; associate’s or bachelor’s degree in Social Work, Criminal Justice, Public
Administration, Human Services, Education, or a related field preferred. At least 3 years’ experience in community
safety operations, outreach coordination, training facilitation, or violence prevention required; supervisory or
coaching experience preferred. Lived experience in communities impacted by violence is valued. Must demonstrate
strong communication, coaching, documentation, and organizational skills, with the ability to maintain
professionalism, confidentiality, and emotional regulation in high‑stress environments. Must pass background
screening consistent with City policy, recognizing that lived‑experience candidates are not excluded.
Work is performed in a blended environment, including office settings,
training spaces, and field locations across neighborhoods, precinct areas, and priority corridors. Duties require regular
travel to community sites, partner locations, and off‑site meetings. The role may involve exposure to high‑stress or
emotionally charged environments during field observations or rapid response activations. Position requires flexible
scheduling to support evening, weekend, and high‑risk window operations, as well as readiness for rapid deployment
during critical incidents.
