The Fountain Group is a national staffing firm and we are currently seeking an Operations Assistant for a prominent client of ours. This position is onsite in North Chicago, IL 60064. Details for the position are as follows:
Duration: 6-Month Contract Pay Rate: $29–$31/hr Schedule: Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM (40 hours/week; OT possible)
Position Overview
We are seeking an Operations Assistant to support contractor onboarding, compliance tracking, and system administration for a global Control of Work program. This role focuses on data entry, training coordination, and customer support for internal teams and external contractors within an EHS-driven environment.
The position plays a key role in establishing and maintaining contractor qualification records and ensuring smooth onboarding and compliance processes across systems.
Key Responsibilities
Manage administrative setup and data entry within contractor compliance and training systems
Support contractor onboarding by collecting documentation, setting up accounts, and coordinating approvals
Provide training and guidance to contractors on system usage and compliance requirements
Track qualification status, training completion, and compliance deadlines within databases
Communicate with contractor company administrators to resolve documentation or compliance issues
Assist EHS teams in maintaining accurate and organized contractor records
Support continuous improvement of onboarding and compliance workflows
Maintain organized records and ensure data accuracy across systems
Top Required Skills
Strong Microsoft Office skills (especially Excel for tracking and reporting)
Customer service and professional communication skills
Data entry accuracy and attention to detail
Ability to learn and navigate training and compliance systems quickly
Organizational skills with ability to manage repetitive workflows efficiently
Preferred Skills (Not Required)
Basic project coordination or administrative project support experience
Familiarity with environmental health & safety (EHS) processes
Experience working with contractor management or onboarding systems
