We are looking for:
The Operations Engineer owns the technical performance of assigned chemical manufacturing processes, ensuring safe, compliant daily operations while improving HSE, quality, throughput, OEE, and cost. The role leads troubleshooting, KPI reporting, continuous improvement and small capital projects (Lean/Six Sigma), incident investigations/root cause analysis, and execution of PSM/RMP activities (PHA, MOC, PSSR) in close collaboration with cross-functional teams.

Drive continuous improvement across HSE, Quality, and Manufacturing Excellence.
Support the development and execution of site strategic growth projects, as assigned.
Lead the technical side of production for assigned processes by:
Ensuring safe, reliable day-to-day operation within defined operating limits; troubleshooting and resolving process upsets/deviations.
Establishing and tracking process performance KPIs, and communicating results to site and business leadership.
Sharing accountability with the Production Superintendent for meeting site and business targets for HSE, quality, throughput, OEE, and cost.
Identifying, developing, and executing continuous improvement and small capital projects using Lean, Six Sigma, or other operational excellence methods.
Leading investigations and Root Cause Analyses for process safety and quality incidents; defining and closing corrective and preventive actions (CAPAs).
Ensuring processes comply with site management systems and applicable standards (including ISO 9001 and ISO 14001).
Ensure technical compliance with OSHA PSM and the EPA RMP for assigned processes by:
Leading PHA, MOC, and PSSR activities.
Maintaining key documentation (SOPs, operator training materials, and Process Safety Information).
Partner effectively with cross-functional teams (Operations, Maintenance, Engineering, HSE, and R&I).
Provide backup support for other Operations Engineers and site leadership roles (Production Superintendent or Site Technical Manager), as needed.
Apply structured problem-solving to independently resolve complex technical issues.
Deliver results under tight timelines and resource constraints with resilience.
Positively influence peers, leaders, and cross-functional stakeholders.
Build and maintain strong relationships with internal and external customers.
Demonstrate a continuous improvement mindset with decisiveness and a bias for action.

You will bring:
B.S. degree in Chemical Engineering required.
1-5 years of experience in a manufacturing environment.
Prior experience with batch chemical processes preferred.
Prior experience with one or more of the following software packages preferred:
SAP
AVEVA PI system
JMP or Minitab
Aspen Plus or CHEMCAD
Emerson DeltaV
Prior experience in Six Sigma, Lean, or other manufacturing excellence techniques preferred.
