Operations Field Support Specialist
Our Operations Work Management Division is seeking an Operations Field Support Specialist to provide work management support to the Water, Wastewater, and Support Services groups. In this role, you will be part of a team that responds to a high volume of inquiries and service requests, requiring interaction with multiple business applications, customers, stakeholders, and field personnel. Key responsibilities include scheduling inspections, quality checks for data accuracy, coordinating and scheduling work with external customers, reconciling completed work orders, and other field crew support. Your contributions will help ensure field crews can safely and efficiently deliver critical services to our community.
A day in the life of an Operations Field Support Specialist may include:
- Processing a high volume of invoices based on critical deadlines
- Responding to internal and external customer calls and inquiries
- Supporting activities and projects for specific departments and/or divisions
- Maintaining Power BI data for tracking and reporting accuracy
- Scheduling water taps
- Scheduling and tracking required field inspections with customers and contractors
- Working directly with customers to provide updates, explain processes, and address concerns
- Supporting field crews by coordinating work requests, sharing information, and removing roadblocks
- Processing and managing plat cards and related project documentation
- Coordinating between customers, contractors, and field personnel to keep work moving efficiently.
- Maintaining accurate records, permits, and project status information
- Providing day-to-day operational support to ensure safe and reliable operations
- Managing customer and contractor interactions throughout water service installation projects
- Coordinating water taps, inspections, and project documentation to support timely project completion
Who Are You:
- Experience with Maximo or other Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS) applications is valued
- Ability to provide excellent customer service skills and respond promptly to customer needs, as well as requests for service and assistance
- Ability to learn new technologies and programs
- Adaptable and able to work in a fast-paced environment
- The successful candidate will possess the ability to exercise independent judgment and decision-making; research information and analyze data; strong detail-orientation; and collaborate with others to achieve results
Physical Requirements and Working Conditions
- Exerts up to 10 lbs. of force occasionally and/or small amount of force frequently to lift, carry, push, pull, or otherwise move objects, including the human body. Sedentary work involves sitting most of the time but may involve walking or standing for brief periods of time. Jobs are sedentary if walking and standing are required only occasionally, and all other sedentary criteria are met.
