Overview of the Role

The Operations Finance Manager leads financial performance across distribution, logistics, and sourcing operations. Reporting to the VP of Operations Finance, this role is critical in ensuring forecast reliability, working capital control, and disciplined cost governance across both manufacturing and buy-side (sourced product) cost structures.

A key focus of this role is the ability to manage and analyze complex, layered costing models—including material, freight, tariffs, duties, and other landed cost components—while driving EBITDA integrity across distribution and warehouse activities.

What Sets This Role Apart

  • Significant exposure to buy-side costing, representing a substantial portion of the business
  • Opportunity to drive visibility into complex global cost structures
  • High-impact role partnering directly with operations and supply chain leadership
  • Focus on analytical rigor and financial insight, not just reporting

Benefits:

  • Competitive salary
  • Competitive benefits package including 401K with company match, Health/Dental/Vision Insurance that begins on day one, Paid Time Off, Pet Insurance, Adoption Assistance, and more!
  • Bonus program
  • Hybrid remote work
  • Work/life balance
  • Be seen, be valued, be heard
  • Recognition spotlights

Work Arrangement: Hybrid schedule — three days on site (Tuesday and Wednesday required), two days remote

Travel: Out of state travel four times per year (a few days each trip)

Responsibilities for the Senior Plant Accountant include:

Drive Profitability Through Advanced Costing Discipline

  • Own financial oversight of distribution, logistics, and buy-side (sourced product) cost structures, including full landed cost modeling
  • Analyze and manage layered cost components (material, freight, tariffs, duties, and overhead allocations) rather than simplified or job-based costing approaches
  • Ensure accurate accounting and variance analysis across freight, distribution, and supply chain cost centers
  • Deliver actionable insights to optimize cost structure and improve margin performance
  • Proactively identify cost risks and opportunities across sourcing and logistics

KPIs: Delivery of budgeted Contribution Margin and improved cost visibility across sourcing channels

Strengthen Forecasting & Financial Accuracy

  • Lead forecasting for COGS, freight, tariffs, and distribution expenses, with a strong emphasis on buy-side cost drivers
  • Partner with S&OP to ensure alignment with an 18-month planning horizon
  • Deliver accurate and transparent Net Working Capital (NWC) forecasts tied to inventory, sourcing, and logistics flows
  • Improve forecast precision through detailed cost modeling and variance analysis

KPIs: High forecast accuracy across key cost drivers and improved visibility into forward-looking cost impacts

Support Cost Transformation & Sourcing Initiatives

  • Partner on tariff, sourcing, and logistics initiatives to validate financial impact and savings realization
  • Build and maintain robust financial models to evaluate sourcing decisions and cost changes
  • Support initiatives that enhance cost transparency across global sourcing and fulfillment operations
  • Collaborate cross-functionally to ensure alignment between financial goals and operational execution

KPIs: Achievement of cost savings targets and successful execution of sourcing-related initiatives

Ensure Excellence in Cost Accounting & Systems

  • Lead and validate standard cost development, including both manufactured and sourced products
  • Ensure accurate cost roll-ups across multi-layered cost components, including landed costs
  • Support SAP enhancements related to costing, inventory, and financial reporting
  • Serve as a key resource for cost accounting integrity and audit readiness

KPIs: Timely and accurate standard cost rolls; audit-ready financials; improved costing processes
