Position Overview

A Rhode Island government agency is seeking an experienced Operations / Front Desk Representative to provide professional customer service and administrative support in a busy office environment. The ideal candidate will be personable, organized, and capable of balancing multiple responsibilities while serving as the first point of contact for visitors and callers. Bilingual candidates are encouraged to apply.

Key Responsibilities

  • Answer and direct incoming phone calls in a professional and courteous manner.
  • Welcome and assist visitors, clients, and staff at the front desk.
  • Provide exceptional customer service while maintaining a positive and professional demeanor.
  • Support office personnel with various administrative and clerical tasks.
  • Assist with document handling, filing, data entry, and general office operations.
  • Maintain an organized reception area and ensure a positive visitor experience.
  • Collaborate effectively with team members while also working independently to complete assigned tasks. 

Required Qualifications

  • Previous experience in customer service, reception, front desk, or administrative support roles.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal and customer service abilities.
  • Ability to multitask and prioritize in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Proficiency with standard office equipment and Microsoft Office applications.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team. 

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bilingual language skills.
  • Experience working in a government, healthcare, social services, or public-facing office environment.
  • Previous front desk or high-volume customer interaction experience.
