Operations General Manager

B&C Logistics is a growing third-party logistics company moving product for consumer brands nationally and internationally out of a 100,000-square-foot, food-grade operation an hour west of Chicago. The founder has run daily operations himself since day one. The company has now outgrown that setup, and he knows it.

That’s where you come in. As B&C’s first Operations General Manager, you’ll take over the day-to-day across two facilities and build the management structure the next phase of growth requires. This is a build role, not a caretaker role. There’s no playbook to inherit; you’ll write it, with real authority and an owner who genuinely wants to hand over the keys.

What you’ll actually do

• Run daily operations end to end: receiving, inventory control, fulfillment, value-added services, shipping, and everything in between

• Lead and develop the department managers so problems get solved on the floor, not in your inbox

• Put real operating rhythms in place: scorecards, SOPs, shift handoffs, floor walks, and accountability that sticks

• Get the operation ready for what’s next, including new partner launches, peak seasons, and a planned facility transition

What we’re looking for

• 5+ years in warehouse, fulfillment, or distribution operations, including hands-on 3PL experience

• 3+ years leading managers, not just teams

• Working knowledge of CPG compliance across D2C and retail; food-grade experience is a plus

• Comfortable in a WMS (they run Infoplus) and solid in Excel

• Based in Chicago’s western suburbs, or ready to be, with regular time at both facilities

• Low ego, high standards. This team works hard and doesn’t take itself too seriously. Neither should you.

The details

Base salary from $110K depending on experience, plus full benefits, with a performance bonus structure planned after year one. On-site role reporting directly to the President.
