Job Summary
The Operations Lead is responsible for modeling and promoting Sendik’s culture by supporting those who consistently provide “best in class” service to our guests. This role functions as a hands-on partner to our stores, working side-by-side with senior leadership to provide an overview of operational readiness. The Operations Lead is responsible for working side-by-side with store teams to coach, teach, and train associates on company projects, initiatives, and rollouts. By enhancing the execution of operational plans, they drive sales, identify cost-control opportunities, and manage shrink. This role requires expert time management, extreme flexibility, and the ability to assist multiple stores weekly on unique, individual projects.

Work Experience
Duties/Responsibilities
- Serve customers, associates, and partners while modeling Sendik’s culture. Work side-by-side with senior leadership to provide operational overviews and expert-level support
- Drive improved store-level performance by working side-by-side with associates, focusing on developing their skills and understanding of Sendik's standards
- Conduct regular store walks to assess operational readiness, identify focus areas, and ensure the Sendik’s
- Difference standards are maintained
- Manage a broad scope of responsibilities across multiple locations; maintain a high level of self-discipline regarding travel, scheduling, and project deadlines
- Assist multiple stores daily or weekly with unique projects, store remodels, or department resets
- Demonstrate the flexibility to work in all departments needing assistance; display a high sense of urgency regarding store conditions and product quality
- Interact and build positive relationships with multiple teams across the Sendik’s locations to ensure unified goals and Red Truck Service
- Assist with leading various store departments during associate vacations, absences, or as business needs dictate
- Ensure safety and sanitation standards are met by serving as a lead example and providing constructive direction
- Adopting a continuous improvement mindset, proactively seek ways to improve upon existing department procedures and processes
- Other duties as assigned
Qualifications:
- High School diploma or GED equivalent is required
- Minimum of 3 years of grocery retail experience preferred
- Strong knowledge of local and state health, sanitation, and safety regulations and codes preferred
- A strong customer service orientation focused on providing the best in quality and service
- Proficient in computer programs such as Word, Excel and Google Docs
- Strong communication and problem-solving skills
- Excellent attention to detail
- Excellent time management, prioritization and organization skills
- Ability to work at a fast paced and efficient manner
- Strong sense of team – ability to anticipate the needs of the team
- Ability to lift a maximum of 50 lbs
