Operations & Maintenance Manager Requirements & Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years of experience in operations management, with strong snow and ice management focus
• High school diploma required; secondary education preferred
• Proven experience managing fleet maintenance, facilities, and operational staff
• Ability to work irregular hours, including nights, weekends, and extended shifts during winter weather events
• Able to perform physical labor as needed and work in outdoor, industrial environments

Operations & Maintenance Manager Preferred Background & Skills

• Strong leadership skills, including recruiting, training, supervising, and motivating teams
• In-depth knowledge of snow and ice management operations, safety standards, DOT/FMCSA compliance, and equipment maintenance
• Highly organized with excellent problem-solving, decision-making, and time-management skills
• Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite, Apple iOS/Apple computers, and web-based applications
• Experience managing heavy equipment, fleet operations, inventory, and material depots
• Self-starter, able to work independently and excel in a high-accountability environment
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills for effective cross-level collaboration
• Adaptable and dependable, able to manage shifting priorities—especially during winter weather events

Operations & Maintenance Manager Day-to-Day Responsibilities

• Oversee daily operations across multiple locations to ensure efficient, safe, and cost-effective performance
• Manage fleet and facility maintenance, ensuring all equipment is properly serviced and operational
• Recruit, schedule, supervise, and support operational staff, fostering a positive team environment
• Direct snow and ice management operations, including rapid response to winter weather events
• Maintain accurate inventory and material depot management
• Promote and enforce compliance with all safety, regulatory, and company policies
