Northern Biogas designs, builds, owns, and operates Renewable Natural Gas (RNG) facilities. The Operations & Maintenance Technician is a hands-on, on-site role that supports the daily operation and maintenance of these facilities. Responsibilities include equipment maintenance, troubleshooting, and operating a range of machinery. Experience in maintenance, manufacturing, landfill, or other industrial environments is strongly preferred.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
\n

- Complete operator rounds, perform maintenance, and execute work orders in the Work Management System, including documenting completed work and closing out work orders.
- \n
- Support inventory tracking in the Work Management System to ensure resources are available for daily operations.
- \n
- Identify, troubleshoot, and repair process equipment as needed. Types of equipment include natural gas compressors, pumps, valves, air coolers, and related systems.
- \n
- Learn landfill gas collection and control system (GCCS) operations and assist with troubleshooting, operating, and tuning the wellfield.
- \n
- Follow site-specific safety procedures and comply with OSHA, DOT, and EPA regulations to maintain a safe work environment.
- \n
- Coordinate with vendors and contractors to complete on-site work safely and on schedule.
- \n
- Collaborate with engineering, operations, and supervisory teams to improve facility reliability and throughput.
- \n
- Operate equipment such as UTVs, ATVs, forklifts, skid steers, and snowplows.
- \n
- Be available for limited weekend work and emergency call-ins as needed.
- \n

Minimum Requirements:
\n
- \n
- Valid driver’s license and a clean driving record.
- \n
- Ability to pass a pre-employment drug screen and background check.
- \n
- Basic computer skills to complete work orders and use Microsoft products such as Outlook
- \n
- Regularly bend, stoop, climb between levels, lift up to 50 lbs., and manually move loads up to 75 lbs.
- \n
- Willingness to work outdoors up to 75% of each workday.
- \n
- Be available for on-call hours & limited weekend hours.
- \n

Desired Skills:
\n
- \n
- Experience in maintenance, landfill operations, natural gas, chemical plant operations, industrial gas operations, and/or power plant operations is a plus.
- \n
- Experience with rotating and fixed equipment; familiarity with electrical systems/equipment and motor controls
- \n
- Troubleshooting and commissioning experience in an industrial application
- \n
- Good problem solving skills to identify, troubleshoot and safely resolve issues to keep the RNG plant running reliably and at capacity.
