The Operations & Maintenance (O&M) Technician (HVAC) is responsible for ensuring the reliable operation, monitoring, and maintenance of critical HVAC systems in a mission-critical environment. This role involves hands-on equipment maintenance, system monitoring via Building Management Systems (BMS), troubleshooting, and coordination of preventative and corrective maintenance activities to maintain optimal system performance and environmental compliance.
Responsibilities:
- Monitor HVAC systems using the Building Management System (BMS) and perform routine field rounds and readings
- Ensure environmental compliance and maintain system operating parameters through continuous monitoring
- Troubleshoot systems using HMI historical trends, alarms, and event data
- Identify, diagnose, and correct equipment and system issues in a timely manner
- Log equipment issues and maintenance activities in maintenance tracking software
- Perform and coordinate preventative and corrective maintenance activities
- Maintain and service equipment including air handlers, exhaust fans, rooftop units, chillers, cooling towers, and compressed air systems
- Execute sustaining plant operations including equipment/system rotations and coordination of planned outages
- Support continuous system performance and operational reliability
- Any other duties or responsibilities that may be assigned to you in your role.
Skills Required:
- 2+ years of experience operating and maintaining HVAC systems in a mission-critical environment
- Experience working with BMS and HMI systems
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
Education / Licenses / Certifications
- 2-year HVAC degree, Mechanical Engineering degree, Universal Refrigerant License (EPA Certification), or equivalent relevant experience
- Proof of education, licenses, and certifications will be required where applicable
