OVERVIEW
JOB TITLE: Operations Management Tutor
PAY RATE: $16.50/hr
HOURS: 5-10 hours/week but hours are TBD based on tutor availability
LOCATION: St. Paul Campus
JOB SUMMARY
Business program tutors support students'' academic success in core business courses through in-person one-on-one and small group meetings as well as virtual appointments. Business tutors handle both pre-booked appointments and walk-ins.
Operations Management tutors assist with understanding concepts, homework help, and exam preparation for students enrolled in OPMT 300 & OPMT 320, as well as OPMT 470 if the tutor has completed the coursework.
If operations tutors are interested and academically qualified, accounting tutors may support students in FINC 310 and 311 during periods of high demand.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Participate in tutor orientation, training sessions, and monthly professional development meetings
Visit tutor-supported business classes each semester to promote tutoring services
Provide academic support to Opus College of Business undergraduate students within scheduled working hours for the following courses:
OPMT 200 & OPMT 320
OPMT 470 if the tutor has completed the coursework
Direct students to appropriate campus resources
Track and make notes on all student appointments in Salesforce
Remain up-to-date on department and course information, communicating with faculty when necessary.
Accurately report all hours worked
QUALIFICATIONS
QUALIFICATIONS:
Required-
Declared Operations & Supply Chain Management major OR pursuing a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration with a Business Analytics minor.
Completion of OPMT 200 and OPMT 320 with a grade of B or above
Ability to work with students with diverse identities and learning styles
A natural ability to communicate technical operations terms in a non-technical way
Comfortability communicating with staff and faculty in person and through email
Strong customer service skills

To be eligible for student employment, St. Thomas students must be degree seeking at the undergraduate, graduate and doctoral levels.
